GUIDELINES FOR SUBMITTING MANUSCRIPTS TO GREENERY PRESS

Guidelines for nonfiction books:

Your best bet for selling a book to us is to develop a well-written and well-organized how-to book on some aspect of human sexuality, preferably an aspect that has not been extensively written about in the past. We prefer books between 30,000 and 80,000 words in length, although we have accepted books which are both longer and shorter. We like books with a distinct authorial voice and a touch of humor. We insist on an extremely responsible stance on issues of consent and safety.

We are probably not interested in:

- personal memoirs (unless you are well-known or your life has been extraordinary)

- general BDSM or sexuality how-tos (although we are definitely interested in specialty or niche books in these areas)

- humor or poetry

- books that are primarily visual (e.g., graphic novels or coffee-table books)

- books about sexual politics or philosophy

However, we've been known to break all these rules at some time if the material is good enough.

Guidelines for fiction books:

Greenery Press is not currently accepting fiction submissions.

How to submit your book:

Do not send us complete manuscripts. Do not send manuscripts or samples by e-mail. A simple query by email may be sent to jhardy@greenerypress.com.

Send us an outline or synopsis plus two sample chapters, along with a cover letter explaining who you think would read your book and why. If you want your materials returned to you, enclose a self-addressed stamped envelope of an appropriate size and with sufficient postage.

Please understand that we are a very small company and that our editorial staff is pressed for time. It may take several months or more for us to get back to you.

Queries and samples may be mailed to:
